How much time is needed to prepare the Plan?

The Quebec, Canada and Makivik negotiators have requested a first draft of the Plan to accompany the Final Agreement, which could be completed during the year of 2007 or, with a bit of luck, at the end of 2006.

Once the Final Agreement is completed, this first draft of the Implementation Plan must be passed on to the Transition Committee that will be created in law and which first mandate will be to complete the Plan if needed and to do all that is necessary to establish the new government in the best conditions and within schedule.

Between the Final Agreement and the new government, Nunavimmiut Aquvvinga, there will naturally be a period of transition of at least two, perhaps three years, and Nunavimmiut Aquvvinga could be operational, say, on April 1st, 2010.

It is still far, but it is also near when we consider all the tasks to be accomplished to ensure the smooth amalgamation of the three organizations within one Nunavik government.

Is the Nunavik Government finally about to happen?

What is the Implementation Plan?

What will the Implementation Plan include?
