This activity was written by Isabelle Guay, a teacher in Kangiqsualujjuaq. It helped the students in her class learn about the background of the negotiation process and understand the connection between the different organisations involved.

Brainstorm various occupations and job skills with your students.
Divide the class into groups. (at least 3) Have each group read an article about one of the negotiators. (found in the Meet the Negotiators section) Have them make a list of that person's work experiences.
Divide the blackboard into 3 sections and have each group write their list on the board.
Challenge the class to identify the skills required for the past jobs of each negotiator.
Discuss which of these skills would be useful in the negotiation process.
Finally, discuss the activity itself with the students.
